Sleep & Tradition offers you a 5-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects in materials and construction on mattresses and box springs.

What is the validity period of the warranty?

 This warranty is valid for 5 years from the date of purchase. The invoice is required as proof of purchase.

What are the conditions of application of the guarantee?

The warranty applies to new products sold by sleep-and-tradition.fr or authorized distributors. They cover the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials likely to affect the normal and safe use of the product appears during the entire warranty period offered from the date of purchase. The Sleep & Tradition guarantee relates only to the original purchaser acting as a consumer. It is non-transferable. It only applies to domestic use. The guarantee does not apply without presentation of the invoice in the event of distance selling. Keep your proof of purchase in a safe place.

The guarantee only applies to products purchased on the reference site www.sommeil-et-tradition.fr.

The warranty does not apply to sales made to third parties, customers or distributors of the brand.

What does the warranty cover?

The warranty covers the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials appears during the entire warranty period offered from the date of purchase, in the following components of the mattresses and box springs:

  • Wooden frame and springs in the box spring mattresses.
  • Springs in pocket spring mattresses.
  • Foam core in foam mattresses.
  • Latex core in latex mattresses.
  • Wooden frame and slats of the slatted bases.

All mattress toppers are excluded from the warranty

Apart from the implementation of the legal guarantee, Sommeil & Tradition will examine the product, and if after verification it is concluded that your complaint is covered by the guarantee, the defective product will either be repaired or replaced by the same article or by a comparable article. In case of implementation, Sleep & Tradition will bear the cost of repairs, spare parts, labor and travel of personnel to the home that the service involves, insofar as the costs to be incurred for the repair do not exceed the value of the product and where the product is accessible for repair at no additional cost. These provisions do not apply to repairs not authorized by Sommeil & Tradition . The warranty applies to materials and accessories replaced or repaired during the warranty period, within the limit of the warranty period remaining to run from the day of replacement or repair. In the event that the article is no longer sold by Sommeil & Tradition , and in the event of total impossibility of repair recognized by Sommeil & Tradition , or if the amount of the repairs exceeds the value of the article, and apart from the implementation of the legal guarantee, Sleep & Tradition will offer a suitable replacement item. The replacement of the defective product does not result in extending the initial warranty period.

Conditions of application of the guarantee?

The Sommeil et Tradition product(s) must be purchased directly from the Sommeil-et-Tradition.fr website. All products purchased from resellers, distributors, partner stores, private sales or discounters are excluded from this warranty condition, and are subject to the application of their general conditions of sale, the duration of the warranty of which is defined at their convenience, while respecting the legal minimum of 2 years. In the event of a defect or non-indication on the part of the resellers/distributor, the legal guarantee of 2 years applies.

It is necessary to have applied the entire procedure for opening the products and to have reported within 7 days after delivery any problems or possible failure on the product. In the event of a problem, an advisor will make a diagnosis and analyze the problem(s) encountered on a case-by-case basis.

What are the general warranty exclusions?

Unless otherwise agreed, the warranty does not apply to use in public or professional places. The warranty does not apply to products which have been improperly stored or assembled, which have been subject to improper use such as the use of an unsuitable bed base or modification, which have been cleaned using the wrong methods or products, products that have been misused or abused, such as being used outdoors. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear such that it does not affect the daily use or safety of the product, nor damage caused by, among other things, theft, fall or impact of an object, fire, discoloration by light, burns, excessive moisture or dry heat, cuts, scrapes, any soaking by a liquid, or damage engaging the responsibility of a third party or resulting from a negligence intentional or fraudulent. The warranty does not cover consequential or incidental damages.

The mattress warranty does not cover your mattress if the bed base used with it has any sagging or any defect in flatness that could lead to a defect in the mattress. More specifically, this warranty excludes: a) All mattresses not unpacked within one month of delivery. Thus mattresses that do not re-inflate cannot be reported more than 30 days after delivery; b) a normal reduction in the firmness of the foam which does not affect the general qualities of the mattress; c) natural subsidence of materials, ie subsidence not exceeding more than 2.5 cm in height; d) normal wear and tear from the intended use of the products, including caused by washing, such as pilling of fabrics; e) if you have attempted to alter or repair the mattress without our consent or if you have cleaned the products with improper products or techniques; f) minor imperfections and slight cosmetic defects; g) tears, stains, soiling, burns, liquid damage and discoloration of materials that occur over time; h) humidity, odors or mold (which can be caused, among other things, by the absence of a bed base); i) individual or personal preferences regarding firmness, texture, comfort, etc. ; j) individual or personal allergies or sensitivities. k) All contamination by fleas, bed bugs or other parasites; l) if the defect results from a case of force majeure or a natural phenomenon beyond our control, including, without limitation, fire, flood or natural disaster.

Maintenance tips

Over time, a mattress can deform under the weight of the body and adapt to the shape of the sleeper. To ensure better longevity, regular wear and less deformation of the mattress, we recommend that you turn the mattress every 15 days during the first 3 months and then every 2 to 3 months thereafter. Ask for help turning your mattress. Never try to do it alone. Vacuuming the mattress helps remove dust and dust mites. This is the only method recommended by Sleep & Tradition . If there is a stain on the mattress, use a cold water soap solution or an upholstery cleaner. Barely moisten the mattress. The mattress should not be soaked in water or any other liquid. Avoid chemicals that can damage your mattress and also have a detrimental effect on your health. A mattress topper provides excellent protection for your mattress and extends its life. Easy to turn and turn, it makes the bed more hygienic because it is easily removed to air the mattress. Never fold a mattress in half. This could damage the springs and materials inside. If you need to bend the mattress to fit through a narrow doorway, bend it slightly. When you carry the mattress, carry it on the side. This is easier and helps prevent damage. This is why, if we guarantee any manufacturing defect in the materials for a period of 5 years following the purchase of the product, we nevertheless recommend that our customers renew their bedding every 5 to 10 years for better hygiene and to avoid thus the emergence of allergy problems, asthma, etc. It is a reasonable investment in improving comfort and for better hygiene.

Where does this warranty apply?

The Sleep & Tradition guarantee applies only on the territory of metropolitan France and the French islands which depend on the European continent (Corsica, island of Batz, island of Ré, etc.), excluding DOM and TOM. For the French islands which depend on the European continent (Corsica, île de Batz, île de Ré, etc.), the provision may incur additional costs payable by the customer.

How to apply the warranty?

Warranty claims must include a clear description of the defect, photos of the defect and the box spring used, and proof of purchase of the product. The absence of photographs or an imprecise description may delay the handling of the defect under the 5-year warranty or lead to its non-exercise.

After inspection of the defect by our Sommeil & Tradition warranty service, it will decide whether the product is defective and whether the conditions for applying the warranty have been met.

Defective products must be returned and return costs will be reimbursed if the defect is found to be eligible for the 5-year warranty.

Any claim under this warranty must be received within 30 days of your becoming aware of the defect or the date on which you should reasonably have become aware of the defect, and in any event before the end of the warranty period.

Please note that no refunds will be made under the 5 year warranty,

If the problem is covered by the warranty:

  • Either your mattress or box spring is repaired, or it is replaced by an equivalent product
  • The repaired or replaced product is shipped and delivered at our expense - please note that shipment can only be made to the country selected when the original mattress was delivered.

If it is determined that your request is not covered by the guarantee, the Sommeil & Tradition guarantee service will contact you so that you can choose between delivery of the mattress or box spring (at your expense) or its destruction (at our expense) . In the event of no response within 30 days, the mattress or box spring will be automatically destroyed at the expense of Sommeil & Tradition .
