What is the validity period of the warranty?
This warranty is valid for 10 years on the eligible product from the date of purchase. The invoice is required as proof of purchase.
What are the conditions for applying the guarantee?
The warranty applies to new products sold by Bed Republic. It covers the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials that could affect the normal and safe use of the product appears during the warranty period offered from the date of purchase.
The Bed Republic warranty applies only to the original purchaser acting as a consumer. It is non-transferable. It applies only to domestic use. The warranty is void without presentation of the invoice in the case of distance selling. Keep your proof of purchase in a safe place.
In the case of a warranty with a shorter period: 5 years for example. The conditions remain the same, except for the duration requirement.
What does the warranty cover?
The warranty covers the repair or replacement of the product if a manufacturing defect in the materials appears during the entire warranty period from the date of purchase, in the following components of mattresses and bed bases:
- Wooden frame and springs in the bed base-mattress.
- Springs in pocket spring mattresses.
- Foam core in foam mattresses.
- Latex core in latex mattresses.
- Wooden frame and slats of slatted bed bases.
All mattress toppers are excluded from the 10-year warranty.
Apart from the implementation of the legal guarantee, Bed Republic will examine the product, and if after verification it is concluded that your claim is covered by the guarantee, the defective product will either be repaired or replaced with the same item or a comparable item.
In the event of implementation, Bed Republic will cover the costs of repairs, replacement parts, labor, and travel expenses for staff to the customer's home, provided that the repair costs do not exceed the value of the product and that the product is repairable at no additional cost. These provisions do not apply to repairs not authorized by Bed Republic.
The warranty applies to materials and accessories replaced or repaired during the warranty period, up to the remaining warranty period from the date of replacement or repair. If the item is no longer sold by Bed Republic, and if Bed Republic acknowledges that repair is impossible, or if the cost of repairs exceeds the item's value, and apart from the application of the legal warranty, Bed Republic will offer an equivalent replacement item. Replacing the defective product does not extend the original warranty period.
What are the general exclusions of the warranty?
Unless otherwise agreed, the warranty does not apply to use in public or professional settings. The warranty does not apply to products that have been improperly stored or assembled, misused (such as the use of an unsuitable bed base or modifications), cleaned with incorrect methods or products, used inappropriately, or abused (for example, used outdoors). The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear that does not affect the product's everyday use or safety, nor does it cover damage caused by, among other things, theft, dropping or impact from an object, fire, fading from light, burns, excessive moisture or dry heat, cuts, scratches, liquid damage, or damage caused by a third party or resulting from intentional or fraudulent acts. The warranty does not cover indirect or incidental damages.
The mattress warranty does not cover your mattress if the bed base used with it has any sagging or unevenness that could cause a defect in the mattress. Specifically, this warranty excludes:
- All mattresses not unpacked within one month of delivery. Therefore, mattresses that do not regain their shape cannot be reported more than 30 days after delivery;
- A normal decrease in the firmness of the foam does not affect the overall qualities of the mattress;
- Natural settling of materials, i.e. settling not exceeding 2.5cm in height;
- Normal wear and tear from the intended use of the products, including wear and tear caused by washing, such as pilling of fabrics;
- If you have attempted to alter or repair the mattress without our consent or if you have cleaned the products with inappropriate products or techniques;
- Minor imperfections and slight aesthetic flaws;
- Tears, stains, soiling, burns, liquid damage and discoloration of materials that occur over time;
- Humidity, odors or mold (which can be caused, among other things, by the absence of a bed base);
- Individual or personal preferences regarding firmness, texture, comfort, etc.; j) individual or personal allergies or sensitivities.
- All contaminations by fleas, bed bugs or other parasites;
- If the defect results from a case of force majeure or a natural phenomenon beyond our control, including, without limitation, fire, flood or natural disaster.
Maintenance tips
Over time, a mattress can deform under the body's weight and conform to the sleeper's shape. To ensure greater longevity, even wear, and less deformation, we recommend rotating the mattress every 15 days for the first 3 months, then every 2 to 3 months thereafter.
Ask for help flipping your mattress. Never try to do it alone. Vacuuming the mattress helps remove dust and dust mites. This is the only method recommended by Bed Republic.
If there is a stain on the mattress, use a soapy solution in cold water or an upholstery cleaner. Barely dampen the mattress. The mattress should not be soaked with water or any other liquid.
Avoid chemicals that can damage your mattress and also have a negative effect on your health. A mattress topper provides excellent protection for your mattress and extends its lifespan. Easy to turn and flip, it makes the bed more hygienic because it can be easily removed to air out the mattress.
Never fold a mattress in half. This could damage the springs and the internal materials. If you need to fold the mattress to fit through a narrow doorway, curve it slightly. When carrying the mattress, carry it on its side. This is easier and helps prevent damage. Only use the handles on the sides of the mattress to turn it, never to carry it.
Hygiene: over time, an old mattress accumulates dust, skin flakes and other organic waste which dust mites feed on.
Therefore, while we guarantee against any manufacturing defects in the materials for a period of 10 years following the purchase of the product, we nevertheless recommend that our customers replace their bedding every 5 to 10 years for better hygiene and to prevent the development of allergies, asthma, etc. It is a sensible investment in improved comfort and hygiene.
Where does this warranty apply?
The Bed Republic guarantee applies only to mainland France and the French islands that are part of the European continent (Corsica, Île de Batz, Île de Ré, etc.), excluding overseas departments and territories. For the French islands that are part of the European continent (Corsica, Île de Batz, Île de Ré, etc.), the availability of the property may incur additional charges payable by the customer.
How do I enforce the warranty?
Within the specified 10-year period, simply call us on +33 1 89 62 39 75 (local call rates apply). Monday to Friday, 9:30 am to 4:00 pm* , or send us an email via our contact form , or directly to help@bedrepublic.fr.
Warranty claims must include a clear description of the defect, photos of the defect and the bed base in question, and proof of purchase. The absence of photos or an inaccurate description may delay or even result in the claim being denied under the 10-year warranty.
After inspection of the defect by our Bed Republic warranty service, they will decide if the product is defective and if the conditions for applying the warranty are met.
Defective products must be returned and return shipping costs will be refunded if the defect is found to be eligible for the 10-year warranty.
Any claim under this warranty must be received within 30 days of your discovery of the defect or the date on which you should reasonably have discovered the defect, and, in any event, before the end of the warranty period.
Please note that no refunds will be issued under the 10-year warranty, unlike the 90-night trial warranty.
If the problem is covered by the warranty:
- Your mattress or bed base will either be repaired, or it will be replaced with an equivalent product.
- The repaired or replaced product is shipped and delivered at our expense – please note that shipping is only available to the country selected for the initial mattress delivery.
If it is determined that your claim is not covered by the warranty, the Bed Republic warranty service will contact you so that you can choose between delivery of the mattress or bed base (at your expense) or its destruction (at our expense). If we do not receive a response within 30 days, the mattress or bed base will be automatically destroyed at Bed Republic's expense.
